About Goggin Ice Center

Goggin Ice Center is an indoor ice arena complex located on the Miami University campus in Oxford, Ohio. The current facility opened in 2006 and replaced the original Goggin Ice Arena, which opened in September 1976 and was demolished in 2006. Owned and operated by Miami University, the center’s primary competition rink is Steve Cady Arena, which seats approximately 3,642 fans for hockey.

The venue is home to the Miami University RedHawks men’s ice hockey program, an NCAA Division I team. In addition to college hockey games, Goggin Ice Center hosts youth and amateur hockey tournaments, public skating sessions, figure skating, learn-to-skate programs, and campus or community ice events. Its year-round ice operations make it more than a game-day venue — it is also a recreational, instructional, and training hub for the university and the surrounding community.

Regarded as one of the premier collegiate ice facilities in the United States, Goggin Ice Center is closely tied to Miami hockey’s rise to national prominence, including the program’s Frozen Four appearance and 2009 national championship game run.

How Much Do Tickets to Goggin Ice Center Cost?

Goggin Ice Center ticket prices vary significantly depending on the type of event, the team, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from regular-season Miami RedHawks hockey to marquee rivalry games and tournaments.

For Miami RedHawks hockey regular-season games, tickets are typically in the approximate range of $10–$40, with seat location and opponent helping determine the final price.

For marquee rivalry games and tournaments, prices can run higher, often reaching $30 or more as demand increases for key matchups.

Opponent, rivalry interest, demand, and seat location all influence pricing. Buying earlier generally provides better seat selection and pricing for high-demand hockey games, while waiting until inventory tightens can leave fewer options in the best remaining sections.

Getting Ready for Your Goggin Ice Center Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at a campus ice arena where popular hockey games can bring heavy demand for parking and entry.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the arena entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Popular games can fill campus parking, and fans traveling from Cincinnati should allow extra travel time before arrival.
• Dress in layers. Rink interiors are chilly even in warmer months, so bringing layers helps you stay comfortable throughout the event.

• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
