About Battery Park

Battery Park is an outdoor amphitheatre and concert venue located at 111 3rd Street in Sioux City, Iowa, adjacent to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City. The venue operates in connection with the casino complex, which opened in 2014, and Battery Park completed a $6.2 million expansion in 2017. Capacity varies by event setup, with approximately several thousand fans accommodated in an outdoor general-admission configuration.

The venue serves as Sioux City’s premier outdoor concert destination, bringing nationally touring performers to the Siouxland region as part of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino entertainment offering. Its event calendar focuses primarily on live concerts across rock, pop, country, and hip-hop, along with comedy and other touring entertainment during the spring-through-fall outdoor season.

Battery Park has hosted artists including Journey, Willie Nelson, Boston, 3 Doors Down, and G-Eazy, making it a major warm-weather stop for live music in downtown Sioux City.

Location & Transportation

Battery Park is located at 111 3rd Street, Sioux City, IA 51101 — in downtown Sioux City next to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.

Driving and Parking: Driving is the primary way most attendees reach Battery Park. The venue sits within the downtown casino complex, with casino parking and additional nearby downtown parking available for events. Arriving early is especially useful for popular general-admission concerts, when parking demand builds before showtime.

Transit: Battery Park is in downtown Sioux City, where limited fixed-route transit serves the area. Most attendees still use personal vehicles, rideshare, or nearby hotel access for event nights.

Rideshare: Uber and Lyft operate in Sioux City, and drop-off and pickup are convenient around the downtown casino complex. After high-demand concerts, building in extra time for rideshare pickup can make departure smoother.

Nearby Accommodation: The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City offers on-site lodging directly adjacent to Battery Park. Additional hotels are also available throughout downtown Sioux City for attendees who want to stay close to the venue and casino.

Venue Navigation

Battery Park is an open-air general-admission concert venue, so navigation is centered on entering through the outdoor gates and choosing your position on the festival-style grounds. Understanding the layout in advance helps you plan arrival timing, footwear, and where you want to stand relative to the stage.

Entrances and Access: Entry is through the outdoor venue gates adjacent to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino complex in downtown Sioux City. Expect ticket scanning at the gates before entering the concert grounds.

Seating Levels: Battery Park uses open-air general-admission grounds for most events. Instead of fixed numbered sections, fans position themselves across the outdoor floor in relation to the stage, with earlier arrival helping secure closer standing locations.

Getting to Your Section: For general-admission events, there is no assigned seat or numbered section. Once inside, attendees choose a place on the grounds, with the front of the general-admission floor offering the closest views of the stage.

Dining Options

Inside Battery Park

Outside the Venue — Downtown Sioux City

Downtown Sioux City offers restaurants, bars, and dining within walking distance of Battery Park and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino complex. Staying downtown keeps pre-show meals, drinks, and post-show options close to the venue.

Security & Policies

Battery Park maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

Bag Policy: Bag restrictions typically apply for outdoor concert events at Battery Park. Expect size limits and bag checks, with specific rules varying by event and promoter.

Commonly Prohibited Items: Commonly restricted items include weapons, outside food and drink, and professional recording equipment. Additional items may be restricted when they create a safety concern or conflict with event requirements.

How Much Do Tickets to Battery Park Cost?

Battery Park ticket prices vary widely depending on the type of event, the artist, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from general-admission touring shows to high-demand headliners and VIP packages.

For general-admission and smaller touring shows, tickets can start as low as the low tens of dollars. These events often provide an accessible way to experience Battery Park’s outdoor concert setting.

For mid-tier concerts, Battery Park tickets typically fall in a mid-range price band, roughly around $40–$80, depending on the artist, day of week, and overall demand.

For high-demand headliners and select VIP packages, prices can reach $100 or more. Premium availability depends on the event, and demand can rise quickly when major touring acts play the venue.

Buying earlier generally offers better pricing and selection for popular shows, especially given the venue's general-admission format where earlier purchase can mean better proximity. As inventory shrinks and the event date approaches, prices for the best remaining options can rise.

Getting Ready for Your Battery Park Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at an outdoor venue like this with general-admission standing areas.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the gate without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Arrive early for general-admission events to secure a good spot near the stage and to allow time for downtown parking.
• Wear the right footwear. Battery Park’s outdoor festival grounds involve standing and general-admission footing, so comfortable shoes are a smart choice.
• Dress in layers. As an open-air venue, Battery Park exposes attendees to summer heat, sun, potential rain, and cooler evening temperatures. Dress for the weather before heading out.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. Downtown parking can take additional time on busy event nights, so give yourself a comfortable arrival window before the show starts.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
