About Avondale Brewing Company

Avondale Brewing Company opened in 2011 at 201 41st St S in Birmingham, Alabama. Operated by Avondale Brewing Company, it functions as both a craft brewery and a live event venue, combining an indoor taproom and bar with an outdoor stage and yard area in the Avondale district east of downtown Birmingham.

The venue is regarded locally as an anchor of Birmingham’s revitalized Avondale neighborhood and a go-to destination for craft beer with live music. Its event calendar includes live music across genres, brewery events, festivals, and community gatherings, along with regular taproom operations.

Avondale Brewing Company is especially known for its open-air music area and brewery setting, where shows take on a relaxed neighborhood feel.

Location & Transportation

Avondale Brewing Company is located at 201 41st St S, Birmingham, AL 35222 — in the Avondale neighborhood east of downtown Birmingham.

Driving and Parking: Most visitors arrive by car. Street parking and nearby lots in the Avondale district are the typical options, and they can fill on popular show nights and busy weekends. Arriving early gives you more time to park, walk to the venue, and get through entry before the music starts.

Transit: Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority MAX bus service operates in the area. Birmingham is a car-oriented city, so transit can be more limited for many venue-goers than driving or rideshare.

Rideshare: Uber and Lyft operate throughout Birmingham and are practical options for drop-off and pickup in the Avondale area. After a popular event, building in extra time for pickup can help make the end of the night smoother.

Nearby Accommodation: Lodging is concentrated in and around downtown Birmingham and the UAB/Five Points South area, both a short drive from Avondale. Staying in those areas keeps you close to restaurants, nightlife, and the venue.

Venue Navigation

Avondale Brewing Company combines an indoor taproom and bar with an outdoor concert area, so planning ahead helps you move easily between drinks, the performance space, and entry for ticketed events. Shows in the outdoor music area are typically general-admission and standing-room, which makes arrival timing important for the spot you want.

Getting Ready for Your Avondale Brewing Company Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at an outdoor venue like this where shows are typically standing-room and events proceed rain or shine.
