About 1015 Folsom Nightclub

1015 Folsom Nightclub is a privately operated nightclub and electronic dance music venue located at 1015 Folsom Street in San Francisco’s SoMa district. Long established at this address, it has operated for decades as one of the city’s premier nightlife destinations. Capacity is approximately 1,000–1,500 across its multiple rooms and levels, depending on the configuration and event.

The venue is known for electronic dance music events, DJ sets, club nights, touring headliner shows, and recurring weekly and weekend parties across house, techno, bass, and related genres. Its multi-room format allows different DJs and sound environments to run under one roof, giving guests a flexible club experience that can change from room to room throughout the night.

1015 Folsom Nightclub is regarded as one of San Francisco’s longest-running and most prominent dance music institutions, with major touring electronic and dance artists, including RL Grime, among the headliners to perform there.

Location & Transportation

1015 Folsom Nightclub is located at 1015 Folsom Street, San Francisco, CA 94103 — in the city’s SoMa neighborhood, close to downtown, Union Square, and Market Street transit connections.

Rideshare: Rideshare is one of the most convenient options for a late-night event at 1015 Folsom Nightclub. Pickup demand can be heavy at closing time, and surge pricing is common after major headliner nights, so planning your ride in advance can make the late-night exit smoother.

Transit: SoMa is well served by Muni bus service and is within reach of BART and Muni Metro stations around Market Street, including Powell, Civic Center, and Montgomery. Transit is practical for reaching the area before an event, though late-night service is more limited after club hours.

Driving and Parking: Street parking in SoMa is limited and competitive, especially on weekend nights. Paid lots and garages are available in the surrounding blocks, and arriving early improves your chances of finding a convenient option before door lines build.

Nearby Accommodation: Numerous hotels are available in the adjacent downtown, Union Square, and SoMa areas. Staying nearby can make arrival easy and reduce the need for a long late-night ride after the event.

Venue Navigation

1015 Folsom Nightclub is organized as a multi-level club with several rooms and dance floors, so understanding the layout before you arrive helps you move between music spaces, bars, and gathering areas more easily. Most events are standing-room experiences, with the main-room dance floor serving as the central point for headliner sets.

Entrances and Access: The main entrance is on Folsom Street. Entry typically includes door check-in, ID verification, age requirements, security screening, and digital ticket scanning before guests enter the club.

Concourse Levels: The venue has multiple rooms and levels, each with its own vibe and sound system. Depending on the event, different rooms can feature different DJs, genres, and production environments, giving the night a festival-style flow inside the club.

Dining Options

Inside 1015 Folsom Nightclub

1015 Folsom Nightclub offers full bars serving alcohol throughout the club. Most events are 21+, and guests should expect a nightlife-style bar environment with the busiest service times around peak arrival, major set changes, and later-night crowd surges.

Outside the Venue — SoMa

The surrounding SoMa neighborhood offers numerous restaurants, bars, and late-night food options within walking distance. Downtown and Union Square are also nearby, giving visitors plenty of places to meet before the show or grab food before heading to Folsom Street.

Security & Policies

1015 Folsom Nightclub maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

Bag Policy: Bag checks are typical at entry. Large bags and backpacks are generally discouraged or restricted, so bringing only the essentials can help make door access faster.

Commonly Prohibited Items: Weapons, outside drinks, illegal substances, and items deemed a safety risk are prohibited. Standard nightclub restrictions apply for most events.

Re-Entry: Re-entry is typically not permitted or is restricted at nightclub events. Event-specific re-entry rules are shown on the event listing.

Entry Procedures: Expect ID verification, security screening or bag check, and digital ticket scanning at the door. Arriving with a compliant bag and pre-downloaded tickets speeds entry, especially on sold-out headliner nights.

How Much Do Tickets to 1015 Folsom Nightclub Cost?

1015 Folsom Nightclub ticket prices vary significantly depending on the type of event, the artist or DJ, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from general club nights with local DJs to touring electronic headliners and VIP table experiences.

For general club nights and local DJ events, tickets can start as low as the low tens of dollars, especially when purchased in advance. Pricing can rise closer to the event date or at the door when demand is strong.

For touring headliners and major electronic acts, tickets are typically mid-range, often around $30–$75 or more depending on the artist, date, and demand. High-profile weekend shows and sold-out nights can move higher as inventory tightens.

VIP and bottle-service table packages are priced significantly higher and are typically structured per table or group. These options are built around reserved space and service inclusions rather than standard general admission entry.

Buying earlier generally secures better pricing and guarantees entry, as popular headliner nights can sell out in advance. As inventory shrinks and the event date approaches, prices for the best remaining options often rise.

1015 Folsom Nightclub Seating Guide

1015 Folsom Nightclub is primarily a standing-room, dance-floor venue across multiple rooms and levels, so the best place to be depends on the type of night you want. For many events, general admission gives you the flexibility to move between rooms, find the sound environment you like, and get closer to the DJ booth when space allows.

Best Seats at 1015 Folsom Nightclub

• Best value: General admission entry — the standard and most affordable option for most events, with access to the club’s standing-room dance-floor environment.
• Closest to the action: Front of the main room near the DJ booth and stage area — the strongest choice for maximum proximity to the performer and the center of the crowd energy.
• Best overall experience: Main-room dance floor near the DJ booth — a strong balance of sound, lighting, atmosphere, and connection to the headline set.
• Premium and suite options: VIP bottle-service tables and reserved areas — typically available for groups at an added cost, with a more elevated club experience.
• For groups: Coordinating tickets or VIP table options early is especially useful for high-demand headliner nights, when space and availability can tighten quickly.
• General admission: Most events are general admission and standing-room, giving guests festival-style flexibility to explore different rooms and levels throughout the night.

Getting Ready for Your 1015 Folsom Nightclub Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially for a late-night, standing-room club event in SoMa.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Give yourself time for door lines, ID checks, security screening, and digital ticket scanning, especially for sold-out headliner nights.
• Wear the right footwear. 1015 Folsom Nightclub is a standing and dance-floor environment with multiple levels, so comfortable shoes are a smart choice for a full night of dancing.
• Dress in layers. The venue is indoors, but San Francisco evenings can be cool during the walk, entry line, or late-night exit.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. Late-night service can be limited after club hours, and rideshare demand can spike at closing time, so plan your trip home before the event starts.
• Know your entrance. The club’s main entrance is on Folsom Street, and knowing the age, ID, and ticket-format requirements in advance helps speed door access.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
