About the Willmar Stingers

The Willmar Stingers bring affordable, family-friendly baseball to Willmar, Minnesota as members of the Northwoods League, a summer collegiate wood-bat league for current college players. Founded in 2010, the Stingers compete in the Great Plains Division (West) and provide a high-energy summer destination built around local pride, regional fans, and a steady stream of NCAA talent playing a schedule designed to mirror a pro-style grind.

The Stingers play home games at Taunton Stadium (Bill Taunton Stadium) in Willmar. With an approximate capacity of 1,300 (plus additional berm/standing capacity), the ballpark creates an intimate setting where you’re never far from the diamond. Northwoods League baseball is known for a family-oriented environment, and Willmar game nights lean into that feel with an experience built for families, youth baseball groups, and fans who love the rhythm of summer baseball.

A big part of the Stingers’ appeal is the classic Northwoods League game-night vibe: between-inning promotions, giveaways, fireworks nights, theme nights, and plenty of mascot interaction.
