About UCF Knights Basketball

UCF men’s basketball represents the University of Central Florida in NCAA Division I and has a program history that dates to 1969 (as Florida Technological University), with Division I status established in 1984. Now competing in the Big 12 Conference (joined in 2023), UCF has made multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including a memorable 2019 run that featured a dramatic Round of 32 game against Duke decided by a single point. Notable figures tied to the program include Tacko Fall, B.J. Taylor, Aubrey Dawkins, and head coach Johnny Dawkins.

Home games are played at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. Opened in 2007 with an approximate capacity of 10,000, the on-campus arena is known for a close-to-the-court feel and strong student-driven energy on game nights. The venue has hosted athletics as well as concerts and university events, and it has gone through naming-rights changes over the years (including prior names such as UCF Arena / CFE Arena).

In terms of rivalries and high-demand matchups, the Knights’ primary in-state rivalry is against the USF Bulls as part of the broader War on I-4. In the Big 12, conference games against programs like the Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears have grown in significance since UCF’s move to the league, and Houston is a developing rivalry with shared roots in The American Athletic Conference. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing UCF Knights Basketball tickets early is the smartest move.
