About Rutgers Women's Basketball

Rutgers Scarlet Knights Women's Basketball is an NCAA Division I program competing in the Big Ten Conference, with a tradition that includes a 1982 AIAW National Championship and NCAA Final Four appearances in 2000 and 2007. The Scarlet Knights reached the NCAA National Championship game in 2007. The program’s modern identity is closely tied to legendary head coach C. Vivian Stringer, along with standout Rutgers stars such as Cappie Pondexter, Essence Carson, Sue Wicks, and Epiphanny Prince.

On game day, Rutgers plays at Jersey Mike's Arena on campus in Piscataway, New Jersey. Opened in 1977, the building was formerly the Louis Brown Athletic Center (the “RAC”) and was renamed Jersey Mike’s Arena in 2023. With a capacity of approximately 8,000, the arena’s compact design keeps fans close to the court, helping create an energetic, noisy environment—especially for big matchups.

Rutgers built many of its most storied, high-demand matchups during its Big East era, including a rivalry with the Connecticut Huskies, and it also carries a national connection with the Tennessee Lady Volunteers from the 2007 title-game meeting. In the Big Ten, games against Maryland add regional intensity, and Seton Hall remains a notable in-state opponent. If there's a specific rivalry game you're targeting, browsing Rutgers Scarlet Knights Women's Basketball tickets early is the smartest move.
