About Liberty Flames Basketball

Liberty Flames Basketball competes in NCAA Division I and plays in Conference USA (C‑USA). The program has collected multiple Big South regular-season and tournament titles, including Big South Tournament championships in 2004 and 2013 that sent Liberty to the NCAA Tournament. In the ASUN era (after joining in 2018), Liberty established itself as a conference power with ASUN regular-season and tournament success across the 2019, 2020, and 2021 campaigns. Notable names tied to the program include head coach Ritchie McKay, prolific scoring guard Darius McGhee, NBA veteran Seth Curry, and 2019 NCAA Tournament run standouts Scottie James and Caleb Homesley.

Liberty plays home games at Liberty Arena in Lynchburg, Virginia. Opened in 2020 with an approximate capacity of 4,000, it’s a modern, basketball-specific arena designed around the court for an intimate, high-energy experience. With compact seating and an engaged student presence, the building can get especially loud during conference play and marquee matchups.

Liberty’s fan culture is driven by energetic student support, including the “Flames Fire” student section, with Sparky the Eagle helping lead the in-arena traditions. Rivalry demand often spikes for long-running matchups like Radford, plus competitive, meaningful games from recent conference history against teams like Lipscomb and High Point. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Liberty Flames Basketball tickets early is the smartest move.

How Much Do Liberty Flames Basketball Tickets Cost?

Liberty Flames Basketball tickets typically range from around $10–$20 for general/upper seating to $25–$50+ or more for lower-level and courtside/premium seats, with suites and hospitality packages running higher.

Prices are most affected by the opponent and the importance of the matchup within conference play, along with the day of the week and overall demand. Marquee games, rivalry nights, and contests with postseason or conference-title implications tend to command higher prices, while other dates can offer strong value if you’re flexible on opponent and timing.
