About Brown Bears Basketball

Brown Bears Basketball competes in NCAA Division I as a member of the Ivy League, a conference known for its round-robin schedule and high-intensity rivalry weekends. Brown has reached the NCAA Tournament, highlighted by 1986, when the program earned the Ivy League’s automatic bid, and the Bears have captured Ivy League regular-season championships, most prominently in 1985–86. As with Ivy League peers, Brown balances rigorous academics with Division I basketball and does not offer athletic scholarships.

Home games are played at Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Opened in 1989 with an approximate capacity of 2,800, Pizzitola delivers a compact, student-and-alumni-driven atmosphere where fans stay close to the court and the energy builds fast—especially when Ivy League standings are in play.

Within the Ivy League, Brown’s schedule features annual matchups that drive some of the biggest crowds and the strongest demand—particularly against the Yale Bulldogs, Harvard Crimson, and Princeton Tigers, along with conference games versus Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Pennsylvania. Getting Ready for Brown Bears Basketball Game Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially for an on-campus arena where nearby parking can be limited around the Brown athletics complex.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Pizzitola Sports Center gets congested on game nights. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
• Public Transit: Served by the Providence area's RIPTA bus system; using transit can be a convenient way to reach Brown’s East Side campus area on game night.
