About Arizona State Sun Devils Wrestling

Arizona State Sun Devils Wrestling competes at the NCAA Division I level in the Big 12 Conference, with a program history defined by national relevance and championship pedigree. A signature highlight is the Sun Devils’ 1988 NCAA team wrestling national championship, and the program’s tradition includes numerous NCAA individual national champions across multiple weight classes over the decades. Notable Sun Devils tied to the program’s identity include Zeke Jones, Anthony Robles, and legendary coach Bobby Douglas.

In Tempe, Arizona State hosts home duals at Desert Financial Arena, a multi-purpose on-campus Arena that also serves as a home for ASU basketball and gymnastics. The venue’s capacity is approximately 14,000 (configured smaller for wrestling duals), and the wrestling setup typically brings fans close to the mat with an energetic, intimate feel inside the seating bowl.

Big 12 competition helps shape a schedule full of high-interest matchups, including rivalries with the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Iowa State Cyclones, plus competitive meetings such as Stanford. Conference-era matchups against teams like Missouri and West Virginia add even more edge to the slate. If there’s a specific rivalry dual you’re targeting, browsing Arizona State Sun Devils Wrestling tickets early is the smartest move.

Best Seats for Arizona State Sun Devils Wrestling Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

  • Best value: Upper-bowl and end sections — elevated full view, crowd energy, lower price point
  • Closest to the action: Floor-level and lower-bowl seats closest to the mat — feel the pace up close
  • Best overall view: Center lower-bowl sections aligned with the competition mat, anchored around matside sightlines — strong sightlines, plays developing across the mat
  • For groups and premium experiences: Premium floor-level and lower-bowl options near the mat — a standout way to enjoy a big dual with extra comfort and proximity

If you’re organizing a group outing for a high-demand matchup, it’s smart to shop early so you can keep your seats together in the sections you want.

Getting Ready for Arizona State Sun Devils Wrestling Match Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially at an on-campus Arena where arrivals, parking, and entry lines can pick up as match day approaches.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Desert Financial Arena gets congested on match days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.

  • Public Transit: The Valley Metro Rail (light rail) has stations near the ASU Tempe campus, providing direct access to the arena area.
  • Rideshare: Designated rideshare pickup/drop-off zones are available near the Tempe campus venues.
  • Bag Policy: ASU venues enforce a clear-bag policy consistent with Sun Devil Athletics standards; small clutch bags are typically permitted, with larger non-clear bags prohibited.
  • Payment/Cashless: Bring a card or mobile payment — Desert Financial Arena is cashless.
  • Parking: On-campus parking structures and lots near the arena are available; lots typically open a couple of hours before events.
