Centennial Hall - AZ began in 1937 as a campus auditorium for the University of Arizona. But it’s become much more than that. From the 1940s through the 80s, it was the venue for the Tucson Sunday Evening Forum, which featured all sorts of prominent figures, from Eleanor Roosevelt to Martin Luther King Jr. to Jackie Robinson. Today, Centennial Hall - AZ presents a variety of great shows and concerts throughout the year. It’s also a regular venue for Broadway in Tucson, which brings the most popular touring plays and musicals to Arizona. In 2014, the Centennial Hall - AZ box office has tickets for “I Love Lucy: Live On Stage” at the end of March, followed by concerts by Diana Krall and Bobby McFerrin in April, and the Broadway tour of “The Jersey Boys” in June. There are a variety of tickets available in the 2,500 seat theater, to suit any price range, from orchestra pit to mezzanine.
