Venue Details
Formerly known as the Hartford Civic Center, the XL Center is multipurpose indoor stadium and convention center. Built in Hartford, Connecticut in 1974, the stadium has been the home of the University of Connecticut Huskies since 1980. Besides the Huskies, the stadium also hosts The Connecticut Whale of American Hockey League.
Capable of holding over 16,000 fans, the stadium is considered one of the largest in use for NCAA games. In addition to basketball, the venue has hosted Wrestlemania events, the 1986 NHL All-Star Game, the 2010 United States Gymnastics Federation National Championships and a tour stop on the Professional Bull Riders rodeo tour.
Used for more than just sports, the stadium has hosted concerts by musical artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson, trade shows and conventions in addition to circuses, ice shows and other events.
