Little Rock, Arkansas centers its cultural activities around Robinson Center Music Hall, home base for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. The façade of the theater (built in1037) is classic Greek with columns reminiscent of the Lincoln Memorial, and the marble foyer harks back to the days when theaters were almost literally palaces. A renovation project on the building is scheduled for July, 2014. Like most local live theaters the Music Hall intersperses Broadway productions, local and touring, with concerts, classical and popular. The Symphony provides the classical and this year Merle Haggard is the popular choice. The last Broadway production of the season will be “The Music Man.”
Conveniently, the theater is physically attached to the local Doubletree Hotel and is also connected to the underground parking lot which serves the Civic Center. This lot and two other municipal lots make parking easy. Rate vary with location and time of day.
