Historic venues in the United States have drawn plenty of recent attention due to their intrinsic value. Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington has been around since 1928 and is still operating today. This historic venue has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974 and been touted as a landmark in the city as well. The venue is operated by a non-profit organization and is home to numerous local and regional performers. Also, other acclaimed bands have played there. For instance, in the 1970’s bands like Grateful Dead performed there and Nirvana did in the 1990’s. Recently, this venue has also begun to showcase television shows too. Fans that are coming to this location for the first time will immediately notice the vintage architecture and tall ceilings that are reminiscent of a 1920’s style ballroom. Also, this venue is part of a historic movement by Paramount Pictures to create cinemas all over the country.
