Located in the city of Allentown, Pennsylvania, the Allentown Fairgrounds is home to the fair of the same name. The fair here is one of the oldest in the United States and it has hosted some of the most famous entertainers who have ever taken the stage in the country.
The first fair in Allentown was held in 1852, and the current site has been its home since 1889. Over the years, many of the most famous names in racing circled the track, including Mario Andretti, Parnelli Jones AJ Foyt and more.
The venue was originally celebrated for its auto races, which were first held in 1915. By the 1960s, musical concerts were quite popular and widely attended. The concerts have drawn a litany of famous musicians, including Tennessee Ernie Ford, Jimmy Durante, Johnny Cash, The Supremes, Rod Stewart, The Beach Boys, Alabama, Loretta Lynn, Britney Spears, The Judds and many more.
